Why people choose a private PPO plan.

What a private plan can offer that the one-size-fits-all default often can't.

The one-size-fits-all default

  • A plan you didn't really choose
  • Often high deductibles before coverage kicks in
  • Often narrower doctor networks
  • Enrollment usually limited to once a year

A private PPO plan

  • Built around your needs and budget
  • Low / no deductible options
  • See any doctor in the PPO network
  • Enroll year-round in most states

Is a private plan the right fit?

Private PPO coverage tends to fit best if you're:

Paying over $1,000 a month

If your premium keeps climbing, it's worth seeing what else you may qualify for.

Not getting a subsidy

If you don't qualify for a marketplace subsidy, a private PPO plan is often worth comparing.

In good health

If you're generally healthy, you may qualify for more of these plans.

Probably not the right fit if a subsidy covers most of your premium, you're managing serious ongoing conditions, or you qualify for Medicare or Medicaid. The video covers this too — and Michael will tell you straight.

Common questions

Is there any cost to compare?

None. Both the quiz and the call with Michael are free, with no obligation. If nothing's a fit, Michael will say so.

Will I be able to keep my doctor?

These are PPO-network plans, so in most cases you can keep the doctors and hospitals you already use. Michael confirms your providers before anything is decided.

Is this the Health Insurance Marketplace?

No. These are private plans offered by licensed insurance carriers — this isn't the government Marketplace, and this site isn't affiliated with any government agency. If a subsidy covers most of your premium, the Marketplace is likely still your best value.

Can I enroll any time of year?

Generally, yes — these private plans are available year-round, so you're not stuck waiting for a once-a-year window. What's offered varies by state and carrier, and Michael will confirm what's available where you live.

Does my health history affect what I qualify for?

Yes — you'll answer a few quick health questions, and your answers help determine which plans you qualify for, whether you're approved, and at what rate. Many of these plans don't cover pre-existing conditions, and if a marketplace plan's protections serve you better, Michael will tell you so.

What happens after the quiz?

One short call with Michael. Most people grab a time on the calendar right after the quiz; otherwise Michael reaches out by phone or text. That call is where you'll see what you may qualify for and what it would actually cost. No pressure, no obligation.
